Words are your weapon.  The Void is your judge.

Word Quest is an atmospheric word-based roguelike where language itself is under attack. Form words to fight corrupted entities, survive hostile biomes, and adapt as the dungeon rewrites the rules of grammar to stop you.

This is not a test of vocabulary.
It is a test of survival under pressure.

🜂 Features

  • Word-Driven Combat
Longer words deal more damage. Poor words still scrape meaning from nothing.

  • Hostile Biomes
Each biome changes the rules of play.
The Crimson Archives demand verbosity (4+ letters).
The Sunken Swamp forbids plurality (no S).
Others rot, silence, or destabilize the board itself.

  • Environmental Decay
The dungeon degrades if you hesitate. Corrupted tiles hurt to use — but ignoring them is worse.

  • Boss Encounters
Guardians test logic as much as damage, from stonebound sentinels to glitching nullities.

  • Audio-Visual Corruption
A reactive soundtrack, CRT-style UI, and screen-breaking effects that worsen with depth.

🕹 How to Play

  • Click / tap tiles to form words

  • Longer words = more damage

  • Some tiles heal, some hurt, some lie

  • Survive as long as you can

Tip: Vowels charge special effects in some biomes.
