🎮 Game Modes

WordStrata contains three distinct ways to play:

📚 Normal Mode — The Climb

Your goal is simple:

👉 Reach Level 50
👉 Score as highly as possible
👉 Play increasingly strong and efficient words

Normal Mode is about optimisation and long-term strategy. You’re building momentum, managing your letter pool, and trying to push your score as high as possible before the climb overwhelms you.

This is the best place to learn the systems and chase personal bests.

🫁 Survival Mode — Oxygen Is Running Out

In Survival Mode, you’re fighting against a constant O₂ drain.

👉 Oxygen slowly depletes
👉 Making words restores oxygen
👉 Hesitate too long and you suffocate

This mode adds pressure and speed to every decision. You’re no longer just playing for score — you’re playing to stay alive.

Survival rewards quick thinking, vocabulary flexibility, and panic management.

🤝 Challenge Mode — Shared Keys, Shared Fate

Challenge Mode is Survival Mode with a competitive twist.

👉 Two players share the same key/seed
👉 You both face identical letter conditions
👉 Compare scores and survival times

It’s a direct skill comparison. No randomness advantage. Just vocabulary versus vocabulary.

Perfect for friendly rivalries and proving who truly has the stronger word brain.
